One year anniversary

Today is Derick and I's one year anniversary. It is amazing to think that one whole year has already passed since he and I made a covenant to each other and to the Lord. Can you believe it? Wow.

This weekend, to celebrate our one year anniversary, the Lord has really blessed us. On Friday, we took our microwave to Poppa Pullen and Momma Cheryl in Nashville. We stayed there that night, hung out, then left for Elizabethtown. We had a free night stay at a hotel in E-town. The lady at the front desk, Ashley, was amazing. We showed her our gift certificate, and she gave us the best room in the hotel (it had a whirlpool!) She also encouraged us to check out this restaurant called Stone Hearth (steak & seakfood). We got there at 850pm, and their sign says serves until 9pm, but the manager told us they stopped seating at 9. Perfect! We had this "fantastic" (seriously) waiter, Danny. He was probably one of the best waiters we have ever had. We find out it was his birthday! So while waiting for dinner, Derick ran over to Walgreens to get him a birthday card and balloon. (We hid them under the table.) Then after we ate dinner, we asked him what his favorite dessert was, and we asked him to put a candle in it (as if it was for us)..so when he brought it out...all of the staff sang Happy Birthday to him! It was absolutely awesome. After stuffing ourselves with delicious food, we had a bubble bath and watched "Couples Retreat" and part of "Date Night." I definitely want a whirlpool whenever we buy a house (Lord willing, but no big deal if not).

The bed was very comfortable, and we both slept well. Then we woke up this morning, and ate a yummy breakfast. Then we read Galatians 5. While we were reading and talking through the chapter, I was so amazed and thankful for my husband. Typically when I read Scripture, I am convicted of sin, moved by something, or sometimes it is just reading a story, but Derick brought so many other chapters and verses to interact with Galatians 5. I am so encouraged by the knowledge and passion the Lord has given my husband. The idea of thinking I have prayed for him my entire life, and now he is the one I wake up to every morning, and fall asleep with every night...I am so thankful. Sometimes, it just seems so surreal. We have been married for one year, and together almost four (in March). The Lord has blessed us so much!

Well this is all I can write for now, Mr. P is taking a nap...so I am going to wake him up to go to the Louisville Science Center!!! Woot Woot!! I am excited to play in the kiddy section! lOve
